TBSC: WORKING IN THE SECONDARY SECTION
The British School Caracas was founded in 1950. We have slowly expanded over the years and are looking for inspirational teachers to join the team. We have 150 students in the Primary Section and 110 students in the Secondary Section. Our curriculum in the Secondary Section follows the English National Curriculum in Years 7-9, IGCSE in Years 10-11 and the IB Diploma programme in Years 12-13.
The school is an exciting place to work! We are looking at increasing numbers in the next few years. If you would like to be part of these exciting times, we look forward to receiving your application. Our teachers are flexible, enthusiastic, motivated, excellent communicators and always willing to go the extra mile. We are committed to educating the whole child and are not simply a results factory.
We are looking for teachers with excellent knowledge of their subject area, some knowledge of the English National Curriculum, IGCSE and/or IB Diploma Programme. A minimum of two years’ teaching experience is desirable, although we do offer NQT training for exceptional applicants. In return, teachers receive a flight to Caracas, from the place of hire at the start and end of their two year contract, a fully furnished apartment, subsidised gym membership, subsidised club membership and health insurance. A generous and competitive salary is offered.
We are committed to Continuous Professional Development for all our teachers and place great importance in recruiting teachers who ‘fit’ into our team. Please click HERE to see why you should join our team (video created by Year 9 students). Before applying, we strongly recommend that applicants look through our website.
Please apply with a letter of application that must highlight why you would like to work at TBSC (and live in Caracas), and five essential traits of an international teacher. Please apply by sending a letter of application and an up to date CV to the Head of School, Yasir Patel, firstname.lastname@example.org.
Interviews are scheduled in Manchester and London in January, this includes interviews via Skype. We will also interview virtually before January
Start date for all positions: January 2020 or August 2020
